Announcing the Failed Delivery Guarantee

Vinebase has designed a set of features that significantly reduce the risk of failed delivery, and we back it up by covering the cost of re-shipment to ensure your customers have an excellent experience receiving their wine.

Despite the growing popularity of online wine shipments, challenges in receiving wine deliveries continues to be a top reason why people do not purchase more wine online.

Common carriers (UPS, Fedex) require an adult signature upon delivery, making it easy for the delivery to fail. Common carriers will only try 3 times before marking it "Return to Sender" and shipping the wine back to the winery.

Vinebase has designed a set of features including a real-time Notification Engine and Pickup Locations. These features significantly reduce the risk of failed delivery. And we put our money where our mouth is - if the delivery fails and needs to be re-shipped, Vinebase will cover the cost with our Failed Delivery Guarantee.

How the Notification Engine works:

When an order is marked as "fulfilled", we ask for the Fedex or UPS tracking code. We then connect to Fedex/UPS for shipping updates about the order, and translate it into helpful real-time delivery updates to let customers know where their wine is in transit.

How Pickup Locations work:

We currently offer a direct integration with FedEx's Pickup Locations. This allows a customer to select to ship to one of over 10,000 pickup locations (eg. Walgreens) at time of checkout so they can get their wine delivered when and where it's convenient for them.

How the Failed Delivery Guarantee works:

If your order is marked as ‘return to sender’ by the common carrier (UPS, Fedex) and you can’t find the package, Vinebase will cover the cost to ship the order again.

All you need to do is reach out to your Account Manager to start the reimbursement process.
